Hip Pain: Symptoms and Solutions
Hip pain is one of the most common types of chronic pain we see in our clients. It’s not surprising given that the hip joint is one of the largest weight bearing joints in the body and as such is affected by wear and tear. What is surprising is that while hip pain is often associated with older people, hip pain is common in young patients. Young people who have had childhood diseases like Perthes disease or Dysplasia and athletes between the ages of some 20 and 30 are most at risk.
In older adults, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are two of the most common causes of hip pain. Osteoarthritis, also known as “wear and tear” arthritis, affects nearly 30 million Americans, mostly over the age of 50, and often impacts the hips.
Hip pain is not always easy to identify. Depending on the cause of your pain, you may feel discomfort in your thigh, groin, buttocks, or inside or outside of the hip joint.
In this video, Dave takes a closer look at hip pain, it’s causes, the 6 indicator’s that you could have a serious hip problem and some solutions.
